Perfection is an ideal to shoot for, not a reality

Perfection: an ideal to aim for, never a reality.

Perfectly written social media posts, more and more often generated by AI. Perfect emoji placement, perfect grammar.

Perfect training sessions.

Perfect dogs, perfect people.

Perfectly edited highlight reels of a perfect weekend.

Here’s something different from last weekend…a LOWlight reel. All the imperfections from last weekend that I managed to get on video. Why bother showing the good stuff, even? There’s plenty of that out there already, contributing to the fantasy. Here’s some reality.

Also, it seems I have a dedicated fan club interested in watching me constantly for a misstep that will prove…I’m not sure what. That I’m not perfect?

So, I’m saving THOSE fans some time and posting the lowlights for them to enjoy without needing to go to the effort of stalking, screenshotting, etc. You’re welcome!

And for everybody else who’s just tired of the monotony of the facade of perfection, rest assured, reality still exists, it’s still messy as hell, filled with ups and downs and failures and successes, but a lot more failure than success.

Failure. Say the word a thousand times if it makes you cringe, til the edge wears off, because guess what? Without failure there’s no growth, no triumph, no success, and no getting one step closer to the unattainable perfection none of us will ever achieve except in small, tantalizing moments worth cherishing forever.

And, as an aside, this was a pretty fantastic weekend:

Savi got all her points for 2027 EO Team Tryouts, and poor Dude mostly kept his wits about him despite Savi being in heat and Vida having just BEEN in heat 🤪 They’re just getting better and better and none of us were too rusty after a holiday break.

Despite still dealing with a super painful pinched nerve in my cervical spine, I managed to lope around some big giant courses fairly effectively, even after a 9 hour drive to GET to the show, and multiple runs a day.

And Vida…well, she was just as amazing as the goldens, and deserves her own baby dog social media time in the spotlight, in a later post.
